Conan Taylor, President
Mr. Conan Taylor holds a BA (Honours) in Philosophy from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Law degree from Queens University. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Taylor spent nine years as an officer with the Canadian Armed Forces, obtaining his CAF Pilot’s Wings in 1983,he had a successful military flying career, including being selected to serve as a CAF exchange flying officer with the Royal Airforce. Mr. Taylor was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1997 and practiced at Bennet Jones before founding his own law firm in 2002, Taylor Janis LLP. He brings over 20 years of commercial litigation to the board, and experience.
Mr. Dyer, CPA, CMA has over 30 years of financial management experience including chief financial officer roles in both private and public companies, controller roles and public practice accounting.
As a Chartered Professional Accountant, Mr. Dyer has wide ranging experience in various industries including manufacturing, construction, technology, non-profit, mining, financial institutions and insurance. He also has extensive knowledge in systems technology and software and has led teams in turning around distressed companies.
Brian Stecyk, DIrector
Mr. Stecyk has an extensive backgroundin both corporate communications and also corporate and political networking and public relations. He operates a successful advertising and public relations firm that has been operating for 36 years. In addition to marketing and communications, his strengths include strategic management and planning. For several years, he was a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.
Dawn P.Eng., Qualified Person, VP EXPLORATION
MSc, P.Geo: VP Exploration Ms. Evans-Lamswood’s has worked for close to three decades throughout Canada and internationally. She is known for forging sustainable exploration in Labrador. Dawn’s career has been synchronous with the discoveries and development of the Voisey’s Bay Ni, Cu, Co deposit in Labrador. She brought her scientific acumen to resolving the geological obstacles to development and to continued mineral discoveries at Voisey’s Bay. During this tenor, she was key to the discovery of the Reid Brook deposit, giving underground potential to the deposit. Her research has been conducted with leading academic experts in Nickel mineralization resulting in several papers and presentations documenting the origins of the VB-type of Ni deposits. Dawn started in 1995 with the Voisey’s Bay project as a structural geologist and ended her tenor on the project in 2017 as Exploration Manager, Brown Field Exploration, Vale, North Atlantic, NL Ltd. Dawn has received a number of accolades through her career including: “Geoscientist of the Year” award in 2016 from the NL section of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CIM) and in 2018, the Merit Award from the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL).
